This document will provide a basic reference for the DML Winners hub ("hub", located at
http://hub.dmlcompetition.net.
The hub is build on
Ning's social network platform, to log in and use the hub you'll need to create a Ning ID. To do so, click on the "Sign Up" link in the upper right. After you create an account, you may request to join the hub. I will have to approve your request - the network is private and for DML winners and staff only.
When you join the hub, we request that you upload a picture (the one from your profile on the DML Competition website is fine), and complete your profile. This will give you an identity for interaction in the DML hub, and more robust identities tend to produce a more welcoming community.
At present, the site is set up for information sharing. We've placed the forum in the middle - it will contain our important announcements and information. However, the site supports blogs, groups and rich media sharing. If you'd like to post interactive information of any sort, you're welcome to. As the project progresses and you get more familiar with the site, we'll work on streamlining processes for information sharing in the hub.
Finally, you'll notice "DML Winners elsewhere on the net." Using FriendFeed, we've created an aggregator of public RSS feeds for various projects. This is a great way to get to know one another. If you're blogging/twittering/etc. and would like to be included, please send Fred your URL.
