Based on digital models of real cities, "HyperCities" is a web-based learning platform that connects geographical locations with stories of the people who live there and those who have lived there in the past. Through collaboration between universities and community partners in Los Angeles, Lima, Berlin, and Rome, HyperCities will develop and offer a participatory, open-ended learning environment grounded in space and time, place and history, memory and social interaction, oral history and digital media.

Hi Cathy,
I'm just catching up on comments/emails... Thanks so much for your positive feedback about the conference. My hat goes off to David, Anne, Zoe, and all the participants for their hard work pulling the event together. And thanks for your insightful blog posts about mobile humanities/mobilizing humanities. There is truly much momentum here! Until soon, my best,
Todd
Hi, Todd--You sure do know how to put on a show. The HASTAC 2008 events at UCLA were spectacular. The whole conference was wonderful. Thanks so much. I blogged about it (of course) and will probably never forget the Pogo-Musicians! Best, Cathy
Hi, Todd -- yes I am looking forward to the HASTAC events at UCLA and will be happy to demo Critical Commons on the 24th. Current e-mail is sfanders@usc.edu. For a demo title, how about "Critical Commons: Fair Use Advocacy and Media Resources for Educators" ? Or is that too dry? All I will need is projection, sound and internet access if possible.
Thanks, Cathy! We're working hard to pull this together... everything seems to be falling into place. David and Anne have been fantastic. Looking forward to seeing you next month. My best, Todd
Hi Todd, the UCLA day for HASTAC II looks fantastic. What a great line-up! Congratulations, and I cant wait to join you for that. It promises to be an incredible two days. All the best, Cathy
